The Toronto Maple Leafs have won the John Tavares sweepstakes with the star center agreeing to a 7 year, $77 million contract.

The longer this kept going on with Tavares not committing to the Islanders, it seemed to have Toronto written all over it.

Toronto will now boast a 1-3 punch down the middle in Matthews/Tavares/Kadri that few if any teams can rival.
