13 days out until the trade deadline and the St. Louis Blues asking price for defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk remains high for a rental and will likely stay sky high as the Blues are climbing in the standings.
“The asking price for Shattenkirk, even as a rental, is incredibly high,” Darren Dreger said on NBCSN. And that may have to also include a third piece.”
Holding the keys to the top defenseman available who is head and shoulders above the rest, an NHL source says the Blues are telling interested clubs they seek a top young forward prospect in any deal for Shattenkirk. For the Penguins to enter the derby, the team would be looking at a price of giving up a Daniel Sprong type prospect along with a top pick.
