The Pittsburgh Penguins (46-17-9, 101 pts) clinched their 11th straight playoff berth with a 3-1 win over the Sabres on Tuesday night.
In a 1-1 hockey game late in the 3rd period, Nick Bonino scored with 5:29 left in regulation to put the Penguins ahead and Conor Sheary added some insurance, scoring a 1:58 later as the Penguins pulled away in the 3rd.
Matt Murray stopped 29 of 30 shots for the victory.
