.937 Penguins netminder Tristan Jarry stoned the Sabres again and stopped 32 of 33 shots as Jarry almost became the Penguins first rookie goaltender to post consecutive shutouts. Jason Pominville ruined Jarry’s shutout bid at 11:18 of the third period. Jarry is 4-0-0 on the season in six appearances with a 1.99 GAA and .937 save percentage.

“He was real solid,” Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said of Jarry. “We have high expectations of him.”


20: Carl Hagelin actually scored a goal and it was a beauty. Hagelin’s second period marker off a strong forecheck from Riley Sheahan was his first goal in 20 games, last goal on Oct 17 vs the New York Rangers.


— 10: Patric Hornqvist’s power play goal in the third period was his 10th goal in 25 games and in a contract year has 18 points in 25 games. Hornqvist is currently scoring at a 32 goal pace over a full season.


— 65%: Sidney Crosby had a goal, assist in the win and was especially strong in the faceoff circle, winning 17 of 26 draws, including 7 for 9 on offensive zone draws.
