Matt Murray stopped 32 of 33 shots in his season debut and 13 Penguins’ recorded points in a 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night.
Evgeni Malkin (6), Matt Cullen (3), Bryan Rust (1), Kris Letang (1), Patric Hornqvist (4) all scored in the win as Pittsburgh improves to 7-2-1, 15 pts, on the season.
Matt Cullen scored on his 40th birthday and his first period tally to put the Penguins up 2-0 stood as the game winning goal.
Kris Letang had a goal, assist, 6 shots on goal and played over 23 minutes in his return to the lineup.
Pittsburgh out-shot Anaheim 34-33.
