As the Penguins two-goal lead got cut to 2-1, 3:10 into the third period, special teams fueled the Penguins pulling away in the final period with a shorthanded goal from Tom Kuhnhackl and a power play goal from Patric Hornqvist 2:31 apart to re-take control of the game.

Hornqvist would add an empty net goal with 2:50 left in regulation to cap off his night with a three-goal game.
