The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired infielder Jason Rogers from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielder Keon Broxton and minor league pitcher Trey Supak. Rogers hit .296 (45-for-152) with six doubles, two triples, four home runs and 16 RBI in 86 games over two stints with the Brewers in 2015, which included a .434 (23-for-53) batting average over his last 28 games. He started 22 games at first base, two in left field and one at third base for the Brewers last season. He also led the team with 13 pinch hits.
The 27-year-old Rogers made his Major League debut with the Brewers in 2014. He ranked second among Brewers minor leaguers in batting average (.296) and was tied for second in RBI (82) and tied for fourth in home runs (18) while splitting the 2014 minor league season between Double-A Huntsville and Triple-A Nashville.
