Panthers Rally in 3rd: Anton Lundell scored with six minutes left in regulation to force overtime as the Florida Panthers (43-25-3, 89 pts) rallied for a 4-3 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins (29-32-11, 69 pts) on Sunday evening. Sergei Bobrovsky shut the door in the shootout, turning aside opportunities from Rickard Rakell, Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust. Pittsburgh led 3-1, 6:54 into the second period after an Evgeni Malkin power play goal and the game was flipped soon after as the Panthers would cut Pittsburgh’s lead to 3-2 minutes after the Malkin goal and it was a Panthers onslaught in the third, out-attempting Pittsburgh 34-6 in the final 20 minutes of regulation:

  • Bryan Rust – 2 Goals (24, 25), Assist
  • Sidney Crosby – 2 Assists
  • Evgeni Malkin – Goal (15, PPG)
  • Tristan Jarry 27 Saves, .900 SV%

: Bryan Rust hits the 25 Goal Mark on the season and has a 3-point night. He was on Hat Trick alert after 20 minutes. Rust is closing is in his career high of Goals (28) and Points (58)…….. Sidney Crosby with a two-assist game moves him up to 78 points on the season as he closes in on Wayne Gretzky’s PPG record. Crosby could guarantee himself a point per game season as early as Tuesday night with two points vs the Lightning……… Tristan Jarry was a lot better than a .900 SV% says. Thought it was telling Mike Sullivan went back to him after the game Alex Nedeljkovic had vs CBJ………
