Scott Wilson’s poor training camp saw him fall down the organizational depth chart to start the season, failing to earn an NHL roster spot, and he’s had the perfect type of response.
Wilson scored his team-leading 10th goal and added an assist in Wilkes Barre’s 5-3 win over Albany on Saturday night. With 17 points in 14 games, Wilson is tied for sixth in scoring and tied for 2nd in goals in the AHL.
Dating back to last season, Wilson has 15 goals in his last 24 regular season games. As Wilson continues to shine in the AHL, questions remain whether the Penguins have the best-23 on the roster right now.
