[hide] Pittsburgh’s 20-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts (3-7) saw a lot of poor play from the Steelers but Pittsburgh made enough plays to go to 7-2 on the season.
The most concerning news out of the game wasn’t another ineffective outing from the offense but whether top cornerback Joe Haden was lost for the season.
Haden suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fibula head and further examination by team doctors when the club returned to Pittsburgh reveals Haden won’t be lost for the season.
Haden will not go on injured reserved and internally the Steelers are putting Haden’s timetable at 3-6 weeks.
Signed to a 3 year, $27 million contract in August, Haden has been the Steelers top graded cornerback this season and Steelers officials still can’t believe the Browns cut Haden loose during training camp.
“His presence has changed everything for our pass rush,” a team official said of Haden’s cover ability this season.[/hide]
