Letestu expects to begin light skating this week
Some good news on the injury front for the Penguins and Dustin Jeffrey. According to a source close to the situation,
Dustin Jeffrey’s injury is considered a two week injury at the max and should return to the lineup next week. A source close to Jeffrey said it is unlikely he will play Sunday afternoon in Chicago when he’s eligible to come off of IR but that next week “is a more likely target”.
Jeffrey had an MRI on his left knee last Friday and no structural damage was revealed.
The Penguins are hopeful for the return of Jeffrey and Chris Kunitz within the next 7 to 10 days, while Matt Cooke is scheduled to return to the lineup Sunday afternoon.
Another tidbit of note, Mark Letestu is expected to begin light skating by next week at the latest. He had arthroscopic surgery last week and is doing well. He’s expected to return at somepoint in March.
Sidney Crosby remains out indefinetely.
