Reliever
John Holdzkom still having options has led to him being the odd-man out in the bullpen and the reliever was sent to Triple-A this morning. In 2014, Holdzkom pitched 9 innings and had 14 strikeouts, walked just two batters and posted a 2.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP. His spring training numbers were solid with 9 strikeouts, 3 walks and a 3.38 ERA in 8 innings.
Jeff Hathhorn of 937 The Fan reports, Holdzkom had tears in his eyes when discussing the demotion. “It’s frustrating,” Holdzkom said. “I’m just going to look at it as just another part of my career. It’s not going to be define me.”
