Wednesday Practice Report
Defenseman Jordan Leopold participated in his first full practice since suffering a concussion in game 2 of the Penguins first round series.
Leopold has received clearance to practice but still has to under-go further tests to be cleared to play in games. However, he is progressing where the Penguins expect him to be available at somepoint in the second round. He’s doubtful to be cleared for this weekend.
Winger Tyler Kennedy missed his second straight practice after skating on Monday. His status for game 1 of the second round is in doubt
Chris Kunitz did not skate for the second straight day. Kunitz remains bothered by what is believed to be a bum shoulder.
Seven new recalls joined the Penguins for practice but there were no changes on the top-4 lines.
Matt Cooke – Jordan Staal and Pascal Dupuis have remained together on the third line for the second straight practice.
Chris Conner and Ruslan Fedotenko alternated on Sidney Crosby’s left wing, replacing Chris Kunitz.
Evgeni Malkin centered Alexei Ponikarovsky and Max Talbot.
The Penguins are fully expecting to play Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
