Evgeni Malkin traveled with the Penguins to Anaheim but he’s not going to play during the three game West Coast swing.
Malkin skated today but didn’t participate in contact drills.
*After missing the past three games, Tyler Kennedy (lower body injury) will play against Anaheim.
Where Kennedy fits in the lineup remains to be seen. From what I was told Jordan Staal centered the second line in practice while Kennedy skated on a line with
Matt Cooke and Craig Adams.
Pascal Dupuis alternated on the second line (Fedotenko – Staal – Bourque/Dupuis) with Chris Bourque while Chris Conner skated with Michael Rupp and Eric Godard on the 4th line.
Despite Kennedy returning, Fedotenko and Staal are staying together on the second line. Bylsma will likely use a few different options at right wing on the second line.
Members of the organization have been quite impressed with the way Chris Conner has performed the past two games.
The Penguins are only carrying 6 defenseman and to this point they have not made any call-ups. If a defenseman were to get injured, Ben Lovejoy would be re-called.
