Newcomer Chris Kunitz had two goals and one assist to lead the Penguins to a 6-4 win over the Eastern Conference leading Boston Bruins.
Backup goaltender Mathieu Garon made 21 saves to record his first win in a Penguins uniform.
The Penguins who went 2-8 on the power play got a big game from their new #1 line. Sidney Crosby ( 3 assists), Bill Guerin ( 1 goal, 2 assists) and Chris Kunitz (2 goals, 1 assist) combined for 9 points against the Bruins.
Bill Guerin (18), Chris Kunitz (19, 20), Petr Sykora (24) and Jordan Staal (19) all scored for the Penguins
Sunday’s win moved the Penguins into the #5 spot in the Eastern Conference.
Trailing 3-2 after the 2nd period, Pittsburgh is now 11-19-1 when trailing after two periods
