Kyle Dubas essentially laid it out why Mike Sullivan was fired, a decision that saw Dubas fly to Boston Sunday to let Sullivan know of the change. Both sides knew where this was headed after Tuesday night.
“After very careful discussions, we’ve parted ways with Mike Sullivan,” Dubas said. “Left incredible mark on franchise. Beyond success on bench, mark that he’s made on people here. Makes these moments and time very difficult.”
While the press release might have said parting ways, Dubas did not shy away from saying Sullivan was fired without actually saying it.
“There were times throughout the year where it may just be time,” Dubas said. “Was something on my mind this season.
