Week 5: Mike Tomlin Press Conference
The key for the Steelers this week is getting consecutive wins for the first time this season and as the Steelers travel to Detroit this weekend, the Steelers will also be looking for their first road win of the season.
Injury Report
*According to Mike Tomlin, Troy Polamalu is progressing well, he may participate in a limited basis on Wednesday. His participation though for Sunday’s game is unclear. His availability depends on how he practices this week.
Safety Ryan Clark (lower back), Chris Kemoeatu (left ankle), and Andre Frazier (Shoulder) will all be limited early in the week. All three players are expected to play.
*Tight End David Johnson (high ankle sprain) is expected to return to the lineup this week. Tomlin indicated he is excited about the return of Johnson.
*The latest on running back Willie Parker (turf toe) is that
Parker will be limited once again this week. Mike Tomlin indicated that Rashard Mendenhall is the starter for now and the staff has not “pondered” how they will share carries at this point.
They will explore that scenario when Parker’s availability becomes known. Indications are the team won’t be surprised if Parker can’t play this week.
One thing that will be gone is the two-for-one rotation that favored Willie Parker.
* On a sidenote I hear Limas Sweed will be given a chance to get back into the lineup this week against Detroit.
