All-Star Ballot
Four Penguins have made the NHL All-Star ballot that was released this afternoon. The NHL All-Star ballot consists of 53 forwards, 29 defensemen and 19 goaltenders.
The four Penguins on the ballot include, Forwards Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Defenseman Paul Martin and Goaltender Marc Andre Fleury.
Among the notables left off from the Penguins roster is defenseman Kris Letang and goaltender Brent Johnson.
Letang is second in the NHL among defensemen in points with 15.
Letang and Johnson can still make the All-Star team but the basis of making the ballot appears to have little to do with players performances in the 2010-2011 season and more with being an established player from previous years.
Letang has been one of the top defensemen in the National Hockey League this season.
