The Pirates (18-19) dropped below .500, losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 on Wednesday night, suffering their second straight loss. The team got another quality start from Paul Maholm (1-5, 3.60 ERA) but once again Maholm was given no run support. Maholm allowed 5 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings pitched, earning his 5th loss of the season.The 28 year old is now 0-5 all-time vs LA. Maholm matched Hiroki Kuroda (4-3) zero for zero until the 6th inning when the Dodgers put up two runs. The Pirates have now scored just 11 runs in Maholm’s 8 starts (50 IP). |
