The Pittsburgh Pirates and first baseman Adam LaRoche have agreed to a one year deal worth $7.05 million. Laroche 29, made $5 million last season while batting .270 with 25 home runs and 85 RBIs. The Pirates now have five arbitration-eligible players — outfielder Nate McLouth and pitchers John Grabow, Zach Duke, Tyler Yates and Paul Maholm
Sources tell Inside Pittsburgh Sports, the Pirates are close to reaching deals (if they haven’t already)
with pitchers Zach Duke and John Grabow.
Nate McLouth has all intentions on going to arbitration. McLouth’s rep’s were not happy with the Pirates 4 year offer they made to McLouth during the off-season.
