The Penguins went through a short practice this morning and forward Petr Sykora who is nursing a shoulder injury did not practice. Sykora is doubtful to play on Tuesday against the Panthers but will test his shoulder in tomorrow’s morning skate.
A few veterans took the day off
The confidence level in the locker-room is at a season high and you can tell by watching practice, how much more relax the players are now then they were 3-4 weeks ago.
Goaltender Mathieu Garon spoke after practice,
saying all the right things indicating he will be ready when called upon. Garon works hard in practice and after winning 26 games last season, he is frustrated.
Sidney Crosby claims he is about 85% healthy. Following games he is very sore but said he’s doesn’t expect this injury to limit him the rest of the season. Crosby for one is getting tired of the Ovechkin questions. The local media was all over it today following practice.
The key to re-signing Bill Guerin in the summer will be talking his wife into living in Pittsburgh. What the Penguins have going for them is Guerin wants to stay on the East Coast.
Guerin, others are going apartment hunting this afternoon. Guerin and Kunitz are expected to live together through the rest of the season. Last night was the first time Kunitz was in Pittsburgh since being traded.
