The chances of Wandy Rodriguez (6-4, 3.59 ERA) returning this season has taken a major hit. Pirates GM Neal Huntington announced today that Rodriguez has suffered a setback, stating that Rodriguez “had pain in his forearm during his simulated game/batting practice and will see Dr. Andrews early next week.” Rodriguez last pitched on June 5th with what the team has called forearm tightness. Rodriguez has a $13 million player option for 2014, with the Pirates being responsible for $7.5 million of that total. |
