Ravens passing on Cotchery
The Baltimore Ravens have informed the agent for Jerricho Cotchery that the team will not be making an offer to the veteran wide receiver. Cotchery who visited the Ravens on Tuesday, had a strong interest in Baltimore but it was only a one-way romance.
According to a source involved in the situation, Cotchery’s next course of action is unclear.
It is believed that the Steelers are the only legitimate suitor for Cotchery at this point. The two sides have remained in touch in the past 48 hours but the Steelers had the feeling after Monday’s visit that Cotchery wasn’t too thrilled about battling for a No. 4 receiver spot.
The door though is still open and Cotchery is said to not be against waiting it out for another opportunity to open up. As of tonight, Cotchery does not have any other visits scheduled. The New York Giants have kicked the tires on Cotchery but haven’t brought him in yet for a visit.
Cotchery coming off back surgery in February, passed a physical with the Steelers on Monday morning.
