Steelers eye restructure
The Pittsburgh Steelers have publicly said they want 36 year old Flozell Adams back.
However, if Adams doesn’t restructure his current deal, the Steelers are contemplating cutting him before the CBA expires on March 4th.
Adams, 36, is due to make a base salary of $5 million next season, after signing a two year deal last season. The Steelers have been in discussions with agent Jordan Woy about a possible restructure. Adams though has yet to make a decision on his playing future.
The Steelers would like to get Adams base salary in the $2.5 – $3 million range, a league source indicates.
The Steelers are thin at the tackle position moving forward as no contract talks have taken place with Willie Colon and his future could be in doubt with Pittsburgh, while Max Starks is returning from a neck injury.
Meanwhile, the Steelers have had preliminary discussions with Jonathan Scott about returning. Scott and Adams are represented by the same agent.
