The Pittsburgh Steelers will host UNLV running back Frank Summers on Friday. Summers, 5-10, 234 lbs is seen as a short-yardage back in the NFL.
Summers had an impressive scouting combine running the 40-yard dash in 4.55 and benching pressing 225 lbs – 30 times which was tops for halfbacks and full backs.
Summers also has the ability to be a fullback at the next level.
On UNLV’s March 5th pro day the Steelers had two scouts in attendance including running back’s coach Kirby Wilson.
“The guys that I’ve talked to — the other running back coaches — have all said he might be one of the more difficult guys to tackle that they’ve seen on film this year,” Wilson said.
Wilson on Summers’ catching ability
“He really is rare,” Wilson said. “You don’t see that out of a big man much.”
Summers is seen as a 4th-5th round selection.
