An online report from hockeybuzz.com this weekend mentioned the Pittsburgh Penguins as having interest in 37 year old Alexei Yashin and among the teams pursuing Yashin.
With things slow at this time of the year, decided to take some time and look into it, and as expected, the Penguins have absolutely no interest.
Mark Gandler, the agent for Yashin tells Inside Pittsburgh Sports this morning,

that he has had “no” discussions with the Penguins, calling the report “inaccurate”. Gandler has no expectations that a call will be coming from GM Ray Shero.
The Penguins who have around $2.9 million in cap season are believed to be done for the summer.
Yashin, 36, is exploring a return to the NHL and has 337 career goals. The most likely landing spot for Yashin is the New York Islanders.
