Will contracts be honored for players injured at Olympic Camps?
The NHL has caught many players and their agents by surprise this week as the league sent out a memo on Monday that players who are injured at their Olympic Orientation Camps, will not have their contracts honored by the league.
Team USA and Team Canada each hold their Orientation Camps this month. Canada’s will be held from August 24-27 and three Penguins will participate in the camp; Sidney Crosby, Marc Andre Fleury and Jordan Staal.
Brooks Orpik will be participating for Team USA and Evgeni Malkin will skate with Team Russia this summer.
