Anthony Mantha (6-5, 235) | Terms: 1 Year, $2.5 Million
Buzz: The Penguins might be building the slowest team in the NHL. There’s no question, though, the forward group will be different and will possess a welcomed heavy style of game below the dots. The questions with Mantha, a former first round pick, will be his healthy and foot speed after suffering a torn ACL in November. He appeared in just 13 games with the Flames, totaling 4 goals and 3 assists. 2023-2024 saw the 6-foot-5 winger posted 23 goals and 21 assists in 74 games and was very productive with Washington before a trade at the 2024 deadline to Vegas where his game tailed off.

RW Justin Brazeau (6-6, 228) | Terms: 2 Years, $3 Million ($1.5MM AVV)
Buzz: The theme of the organization since draft weekend has been adding size, subtracting speed with a different style of forward and Brazeau fits the bill at 6-foot-6. A physical forward with great size and effectiveness in the tough areas, Brazeau has the potential to be the most bang for the buck signing the Penguins made today. Don’t be expecting him to win many foot races though. The 27-year-old had 11 Goals, 11 Assists in 76 games split with Boston/Minnesota last season and has been considered a late bloomer. [/hide]
