PIRATES CHECK IN ON CHAVEZ
Jon Heyman of CBSSports mentions the Pirates among six other teams to be in the Eric Chavez market. The 36 year old third baseman hit .281 with 9 home runs and 44 RBIs last season. Chavez appeared in 80 games last season, 52 at third base and 6 at first base.
The left handed third baseman made $3 million last season.
