As expected, Pitt’s list of coaching candidates is becoming smaller with three coaches believed to be on Pitt’s shortlist, no longer an option.
According to multiple reports, Marvin Lewis will remain with the Cincinnati Bengals. Lewis had been said to be on Pitt’s radar but he has his eye on staying in the NFL and had also been expected to interview with the San Francisco 49er’s, if things didn’t work out with Cincinnati.
As previously mentioned, Houston’s Kevin Sumlin (high on Pitt’s radar) has no interest in the job and Wisconsin Offensive coordinator Paul Chryst is said to be close to becoming the offensive coordinator for Texas.
