Bryan Rust (25G-29A-53PTS) scored two goals and an added an assist in the Penguins 4-3 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers on Sunday night. Rust scored two beautiful goals in the first period, going forehand to backhand for a great individual power play goal at 14:26 of the first. Rust then scored nearly five minutes later with a redirection goal off a gorgeous pass from Sidney Crosby at 19:25 of the first. Netting goals 24, 25 on the season, Rust hits the 25-Goal Mark for the second straight season and third time in his career. Can he hit the 30-goal plateau for the first time in his career? Health has been a big reason Rust has never got to 30 as his career-high is 28 goals in 2023-2024. Last season Rust averaged 0.45 Goal/G, a 37-goal pace over 82 games. This season Rust is averaging 0.40 G/G as he continues to produce at a first-line winger level in his age 32 season.
