The Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday agreed to a two year, $1.550 million contract with 25 year Swedish Goaltender Filip Larsson. Larsson posted a 1.93 GAA and .920 save percentage in 28 games with Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 draft by the Detroit Red Wings, Larsson has played overseas for the last four seasons. A factor in Pittsburgh luring the 25 year old netminder back to North America? Larsson will earn a $400,000 minors salary in 2024-2025 and $500,000 salary in 2025-2026.
