Goaltender Marc Andre Fleury (fractured finger) has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game against the New York Islanders I’m told.
Fleury practiced today with just a skaters glove for protection instead of his regular mit and did side work with goalie coach Gilles Meloche.
It is expected that Fleury will be sidelined for a couple more games.
Meanwhile, Brent Johnson went through a full practice today.
Johnson (lower body) could start in goal tomorrow night against the Islanders, however, a decision has not been made as today was Johnson’s first full practice since suffering a lower body injury Monday night.
John Curry is the safest bet at this point.
*Defenseman Brooks Orpik has missed the last four games and talked today following practice, making it sound like that he expects to play tomorrow night.
Orpik went through his second full practice today after skating on Saturday.
