The Latest QB Chatter Inside Steelers Circles:
Russell Wilson/Cleveland Browns are serious about each other. Cleveland inquired when the legal tampering period started Monday, and the recruitment process really started to ratchet up over the next 48 hours with Myles Garrett leading the charge. The fascinating part of the situation is when the Browns traded for Kenny Pickett, a deal that was in the works since the combine, they didn’t believe Wilson was going to give them much consideration. Now it’s a possibility of the two becoming a QB pairing in 2025 after Pickett demanded a trade from Pittsburgh days after Wilson signed in Pittsburgh last March. The Browns have signaled to the Wilson camp they will be not taking a QB at #2 and intend to add to their offensive group with all of the chatter on selecting two-way star Travis Hunter. Then there’s the Pittsburgh angle. They are playing the game right now its Rodgers or nothing when it comes to a big play at the quarterback position. Mike Tomlin is said to have a major pep in his step around the building this week, draft pep visits, like he thinks it’s a done deal. Tomlin is said to believe Rodgers can play well into his 40’s like Tom Brady and is not pursuing Rodgers like it’s a see how it goes one-year thing and that’s another positive the Steelers see on their side over the Giants with the stability they have to be married to a two or three year run with Rodgers as QB1.
