RANGERS 2 – PENGUINS 1
Another season, another post-season disappointment for the Pittsburgh Penguins who gave away a 3-1 series lead.
Henrik Lundqvist made 35 saves and the New York Rangers are heading to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years with a 2-1 win in Game 7, eliminating the Penguins from the post-season. New York won three straight games to take the series, outscoring Pittsburgh 10-3 during that span.
The Penguins 27-27 in their last 54 playoff games have lost to a lower seed in five straight post-seasons.
