LATEST ON ROB SCUDERI
Rob Scuderi is back in Pittsburgh and meeting with team doctors this afternoon but word is the Penguins are anticipating around a 6 week absence for Scuderi, sources say.
An official announcement from the team is likely to come tomorrow.
The Penguins are in Carolina tonight and Robert Bortuzzo is expected to return to the lineup in place of Scuderi.
The pairings today had Brooks Orpik – Paul Martin, Matt Niskanen – Kris Letang, Olli Maatta – Rober Bortuzzo.
Dustin Jeffrey or Jayson Megna will return to the lineup with Deryk Engelland coming out.
The Penguins will see Carolina third string goaltender tonight in Justin Peters who is 0-2 with a 3.16 GAA on the season. The Penguins lit him up last year for 8 goals on 35 shots in an 8-3 Penguins win on April 27.
