Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger underwent an MRI this morning and further examination is needed due to swelling around the foot.
Team doctors remain unsure of the exact prognosis, according to a team official. About 18 hours later, the team is still in a wait and see approach but the injury is not considered severe.
Updated: Meanwhile, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen was previously reporting that Roethlisberger could have a possible fracture based off tests done on Sunday but Mortensen is now reporting that no fracture has been found.
Roethlisberger hurt his left foot near the end of yesterday’s game. The Steelers initially called the injury a foot sprain.
The Steelers are not expected to address Roethlisberger’s situation until Tuesday at Mike Tomlin’s weekly press conference.
Roethlisberger is currently in a walking boot.
