Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to make his second consecutive preseason start Sunday night against the Denver Broncos. Roethlisberger for the second straight practice took all of the 1st team reps.
A day after Mike Tomlin said Dennis Dixon would receive some 1st team reps, the quarterback again ran with the third team today.
However, the Steelers intend to get Dixon some work with the first team against Denver. He is expected to be the No. 2 QB in the game.
The Steelers though are in no hurry to name a starting quarterback for week 1 and likely won’t do so anytime soon.
Will center Justin Hartwig and high profile agent Drew Rosenhaus seek a trade before the September 4th cuts?
Word out of Hartwig’s camp is that he won’t. We’ll see where this goes but told he’s comfortable here and would like to stay in Pittsburgh. Hartwig to this point has not spoken with the Steelers coaching staff or management.
