Multiple sources say Sullivan has leverage on the next assistant coach hire and there’s a strong belief Sullivan’s first choice from the start has always been close friend David Quinn and the search was starting with Quinn before things got serious with other candidates. Sense is the job is Quinn’s if he wants to try to rebrand himself and join the Penguins staff, though, Quinn has planned to weigh his options. Dubas has a shortlist of 3-4 other candidates he has brought to the table, sources say.
