Recent reports suggest that the Pittsburgh Steelers will let Ryan Clark test free agency, with the latest report coming from the National Football Post.
However, I spoke to Joel Turner, the agent for Ryan Clark this afternoon and Turner told me it’s “too early for that conjecture, we are still talking, ” when asked about reports of his client testing free agency.
Turner called those reports premature at this point and told me “we are working to make it happen.”
Turner will meet with Omar Khan on Tuesday in what Turner tells me could be a pivotal day in negotiations.
Turner did not divulge into details but in speaking with Turner on many occasions in the past week, there is a general feeling that Ryan Clark really wants to get a deal done.
Pittsburgh is believed to have tendered a five year deal in the range of $15-$18.5 million but a major obstacle has been the amount of guaranteed money with both sides “miles apart.”
