The Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker Larry Foote have agreed to a three year deal worth slightly more than $9 million.
Foote passed a physical this morning and rejoins his former team.
The Steelers are conducting their first set of voluntary workouts today.
Foote, 29, will turn 30 in June. He was a member of the Steelers from 2002-08.
Foote will serve as a backup in Pittsburgh but the Steelers are paying a high price to retain Foote, who made $2.85 million last season as a starter in Detroit.
The move provides depth for the Steelers at linebacker.
