The Pittsburgh Steelers have made nine cuts and have six more to make before today’s deadline at 4:00 p.m. as rosters have to be cut down to 75.
The Steelers officially released running backs Jordan Hall and Miguel Maysonet, wide receivers C.J. Goodwin and Kashif Moore, tight end Eric Waters, safety Jordan Dangerfield, cornerbacks Devin Smith and Lewis Toler, and linebacker Vic So’oto, the team announced.
Pittsburgh must reduce its roster to 53 players by Saturday at 4 p.m.
ANALYSIS
Safety Jordan Dangerfield was a training camp sensation in the first week but like a lot of small college players like him, he was bound to slow down and that’s what happened as camp, preseason progressed. However, he showed he can play some but had no chance of making the team with the strong camp Robert Golden had…..tight end Eric Waters looked to be a player in contention for a final tight end spot but tailed off the last couple weeks and struggled to stay healthy…..The Vic So’oto cut looks like a situation where the Steelers are giving him a chance to catch on someone else as he showed some upside in camp but was behind stronger contenders for spots in Howard Jones and Chris Carter.
