The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Stanford guard David DeCastro (6-5, 316 lbs) with the the No. 24 overall selection in the NFL draft.
Things setup excellent for the Steelers where there was great value at linebacker and offensive line and the Steelers nab the top rated guard in DeCastro who was not expected to be available at No. 24.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has long sought a dominant guard to team next to Maurkice Pouncey for the next 8 to 10 years and he gets him in DeCastro.
DeCastro was Stanford’s featured run blocker and is widely regarded as an elite run blocker.
Full report to be posted within the hour from Steelers headquarters with reactions from staff.
