Golson out long-term?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded a conditional fifth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for cornerback Brandon Boykin.
Boykin, 25, had 41 tackles and 1 interception in 2014 for the Eagles. He is regarded as primarily a slot corner. Boykin was the 21st ranked cornerback by Profootball Focus in 2014 and No. 12 by PFF in 2013.
Boykin possesses strong playmaking ability and had a career high 6 interceptions in 2013.
The trade for Boykin is believed to be insurance for second round pick Senquez Golson who Steelers officials fear could be out for the season with a shoulder injury.
Boykin is scheduled to make $1.542 million this season and is a free agent at seasons end.
