Svatos highly interested in Pittsburgh
The market is starting to pick up for 28 year old winger Marek Svatos who is coming off a disappointing 7 goal – 11 point season.
The former 30 goal scorer is currently in talks with three teams who are now in the mix but Pittsburgh is not one of them, according to industry sources.
However, Svatos agent is hopeful to receive a call from Penguins GM Ray Shero now that the Billy Guerin situation is resolved.
After speaking with Svatos agent Rich Evans on multiple occasions throughout the past couple weeks, Evans has made it clear that Pittsburgh is viewed as a perfect fit.
While I can’t share everything on the record, Evans would love to hear from Shero and see if something could be worked out.
When asked to confirm that the market is starting picking up for his client, Evans told Inside Pittsburgh Sports, “Unfortunately, Pitt {Pittsburgh} is not one of them (teams in the mix), but now that the Guerin issue is resolved, I would welcome a call from Ray, ” Evans said.
The Penguins to this point have not contacted Evans. Evans is looking for a situation where his client can regain his previous form. Pittsburgh maybe the perfect place but for now Pittsburgh doesn’t appear interested.
