The latest updates on Alex Goligoski, Brian Gionta, and Marty Biron. Is there a goalie controversy brewing in Chicago? Plus my daily recommendation.
Nikolai Khabibulin is now 2-1-1 with a 1.97 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage. I am usually against adding a goaltender who is going to platoon with another, but I would strongly consider picking up Khabibulin if you are in need of upgrading between the pipes.
Marty Biron is off to a horrid start (0-3-1) 5.00 GAA. Keep him on your bench and explore other avenues. I recommend picking up Tampa Bay goaltender Mike Smith (1-1-2) 1.92 GAA who is available in 83% of the leagues on ESPN.com.
Pittsburgh defenseman Alex Goligoski has 2 goals on the season and is getting top power play minutes but I wouldn’t add him to your roster just yet. He’s a player to keep an eye on
New Jersey Devils forward Brian Gionta has only three assists in his first 6 games. Keep him on your bench for now but don’t drop him. If his production does not improve in the next two weeks, explore the market for him
