PENS PROSPECT REPORT

Defenseman Joe Morrow (No. 1 prospect) the Penguins 2011 first round pick was over a point per game player in the regular season for the Portland Winterhawks and he’s nearly matching that mark through seven playoff games.

The Winterhawks rolled past Kamloops Tuesday night, defeating the Blazers 5-2 to take a 3-0 series lead.
Morrow picked up an assist and was a plus-2 in the win. Game 4 is Wednesday night. Morrow has 2 goals and 4 assists in 7 playoff games.
Morrow had impressive regular season numbers, scoring 17 goals and 64 points in 62 games played with a plus-10 rating and 99 penalty minutes.
Morrow who scouts feel could be a No. 1 power play pointman at the NHL level, has been a big factor on the power play. He had 10 power play goals, and was 4th in the WHL with 30 power play assists, giving him 40 power play points during the regular season.
HARRINGTON IN ACTION TONIGHT
Scott Harrington (TIOPS No. 3 rated prospect), the Penguins 2011 2nd round pick is in action tonight. Harrington who plays for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, are down in their series 2-1 to Saginaw. Game 4 is tonight in Saginaw.
Harrington had an assist and was a minus-1 in Monday’s 5-2 loss. Overall in the playoffs, Harrington is a plus-2 with 3 assists in seven games played.
The shutdown defenseman was a plus-26 in 44 regular season games. Harrington who can move the puck well and join the play, had 23 assists and 26 points in the regular season.
Uher Rising on Prospect Board
Talk in Penguin circles is that one of the fastest rising prospects in the Penguins system is Domink Uher, the Penguins 2011 5th round pick. A complete two-way player with offensive upside, Uher had 33 goals and 68 points in 63 regular season games. Penguin scouts regard Uher as a “great two-way player with good speed and the common phrase regarding Uher is that “he plays like a Penguin”.
Through 8 playoff games, Uher’s numbers though are mediocre. He had 1 goal and 3 assists to go along with a minus-5 rating, the second worst mark on the team.
