Left winger Pascal Dupuis missed his second straight practice today with the flu. Dupuis status for tomorrow night’s game against Montreal is up in the air and he is regarded as doubtful at this point.
With Dupuis sidelined, there are some line changes in practice
as Chris Bourque skated with Ruslan Fedotenko and Evgeni Malkin in practice. This could be the first opportunity that Bourque gets steady minutes with the second line and it’s an opportunity he must cease, if he wants to stay on the roster when Max Talbot returns.
The next 3-4 weeks are big for him and Bourque was flying around practice today, skating with some more confidence.
Chris Kunitz and Tyler Kennedy returned to the ice today after missing yesterday’s practice.
*The Penguins spent a good 20 minutes working on their struggling power play today. The team worked on some set plays for Bill Guerin in the high slot.
*Tyler Kennedy got a few more reps with the second power unit than he usually does in practice today. That could be something to watch the next couple weeks.
