Mike Tomlin Press Conference
Coming off their bye week, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a Monday Night showdown in Denver against the 6-1 Broncos.
Pittsburgh lost their previous meeting (07) in Denver 31-28 and have not won in Denver since the 1990’s. Denver leads the All-Time series 16-9-1 and Pittsburgh has lost two straight vs Denver.
The Broncos are coming off of a 30-7 loss to Baltimore which ended their perfect record. Despite playing on the road, the Steelers open up as 3 point favorites.
Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference today and the hot topic again today was safety Ryan Clark.
Tomlin indicated for the second consecutive game that Ryan Clark has received medical clearance to play in Denver but no decision has been yet, and Ryan Clark has yet to determine whether he is willing to play.
According to Tomlin, a decision will be made later in the week, likely on Thursday. The growing consensus around the organization is that Tomlin won’t let Clark play.
On the injury front, nothing new on Lawrence Timmons (ankle) and Travis Kirschke (calf). Both are questionable with the Steelers optimistic that Timmons will start.
The good news is that Troy Polamalu continues to progress and is getting closer to full health. The same for linebacker Andre Frazier who has missed the past couple games.
One injury to keep an eye on is offensive guard
Ramon Foster who is dealing with some back discomfort. Foster will be limited this week.
Running back Willie Parker missed practice on Monday with a fever and will likely return to practice on Wednesday. Rasard Mendenhall will make his 5th consecutive start at running back.
