Joel Blomqvist allowed 4 goals on 15 shots in a 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday Afternoon. The inability to get a save from Blomqvist sunk the Penguins as Pittsburgh drastically outplayed the Rangers in the loss. Pittsburgh outshot New York 33-16 in the game and Pittsburgh held a 30-9 advantage in shots after forty minutes. For the Penguins, Ryan Shea scored twice, and Evgeni Malkin netted his 10th goal of the season. Goaltending, though, haunted the Penguins for the second straight game as Pittsburgh drops back-to-back games at home in getting outscored 13-6 on the weekend.
